Whether it’s fashion, electronics or gold, you’ll find almost every global brand name on sale in Dubai’s sprawling shopping malls – which at the last count numbered over 95. For a different retail experience, explore the old, preserved covered markets – souks – that flank Dubai’s Creek.

NATURE

In the centre of the city, among the sprawling skyscrapers, you’ll discover a nature reserve that’s home to thousands of pretty flamingoes. Take a trip to the Ras al Khor Wildlife Sanctuary to see these magnificent birds in their natural habitat. Or head out of town and into the desert to see Arabian oryx scampering across the dunes.
